Practicing Quoting

Addie Stansbury (2015) via Google Drive
My citation style for my major is APA (view APA in-text citation guide here). In APA format, when embedding quotes within the text, you must add the last name of the author of the source in which you received the quote, and the year in which that source was published.

In the image above from my google doc, you can see clearly where I have highlighted the embedded quote within effective context and cited it in APA style citation. The pink highlight is the effective context in which I have embedded the quote as well as the statement of authority of the person or source being quoted. The yellow highlight is the actual quote itself. And finally, the blue highlight is the proper in-text citation for APA format.
